Vinultra is located in Marlborough, in one of New Zealand's richest, best-loved and world-renowned wine regions. The grapes grown are predominantly Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, the area's grape varieties of choice, as well as Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer. The wines come from individual vineyards on river terraces, each with its own particular soil composition. Only French oak barriques are used for ageing, with a small percentage of new wood. And, where possible, indigenous yeasts are used for all wines. A point of pride for the winery is the collaboration with winemaker Eveline Fraser who comes to Vinultra from the prestigious Cloudy Bay winery. And if that is the hand... It is no coincidence that the wines are so interesting.
